Why the snail? Hello Snail sums up the ethos of Citizen Canvas - connecting with each other (and nature) through creativity, enthusiasm and a can-do attitude. And a reminder that the goggles we wear always shape how we see things.
I founded Citizen Canvas as an independent research and creativity practice to work towards happier, fairer and more sustainable futures. I am inspired by a lifetime of creativity and 15 years of interdisciplinary research drawing on geography, psychology, and social science to understand and engage diverse groups with environmental issues. I have a longstanding interest in using quantitative, qualitative and innovative methods, including intergenerational and creative approaches to help people connect with nature.
I hold a BA in Geography (University of Oxford), MSc in the Science of Natural Hazards (University of Bristol) and PhD in Psychology (Cardiff University). Alongside (and as part of) my research, I am an artist, educator, and photographer.
